BIG SHOTS Photo Tips
-
You don't have to scan your photos, just send us the originals.
If you must scan them, your scanner must support enlargements.
Please scan in one of 4 ways: 200dpi at desired size (ex 6'
tall), 400dpi at 1/2 size, 600dpi at 1/3 size, 800 dpi at 1/4
size.
-
Do NOT send photo prints from home printer docks and photo
printers, these do not enlarge well, and may produce fuzzy or
undesired results. Please use originals or professionally
developed prints.
-
When sending 35mm photos, original, professionally developed
prints, are required. The bigger the photo the better. Do NOT
enlarge smaller photos for us. Send originals.
-
35mm disposables work the best, they have less settings and
generally take better photo.
-
Digital Cameras must be at least 4 megapixels & the resolution
MUST be set to high or fine. Some cameras just list numbers -
choose the largest one. This will give you less pictures, but
better pictures.
-
Take photos close up (tight shot). Use the least zoom possible,
just get closer. Do not cut the feet off. Take it vertically,
not horizontally Light backgrounds are better Sharp, focused,
and clear images work the best.
-
If sending a digital photo, the file size should be at least 500
kb or larger. (200 dpi preferred) *** DO NOT JUST CHANGE THE
RESOLUTION *** Let us work with the original file.
-
We accept .jpg, .pdf, .eps, .tif, Photoshop, Illustrator, Draw,
Freehand, Fireworks, just about any file type. If in doubt,
contact us.
-
Important - You get what you give us! It all starts with the
photo.
